3 ways girls soccer players can be more confident

Published on July 10, 2018

Alright, now it’s time to get into the nitty gritty of how your daughter can actually boost her confidence.

Being confident comes from within and it must be worked on EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Here are 3 ways that your daughter can work on her confidence on a daily basis:

(make sure she reads this)

1. Turn your weaknesses into strengths

If you aren’t confident about a particular part of your game, then work extra hard on those things, so that you can become confident in that area.

It’s not fun, but I promise, it will be worth it. All it takes is consistency and hard work, and once you start to notice improvement, don’t let anything stop you.

2. Change the voices in your head

The most important voice you hear every single day is your own voice. The voices in your head have more power over you than anything.

Although it may take practice, get in the habit of using positive self-talk.

If a negative thought comes into your mind, brush it off and change it into something positive.

If you talk to yourself in a positive way, then positive things will happen. Same goes if you talk negatively.

This is one of the most important things you can do on and off the field.

3. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes

Mistakes are going to happen regardless of who you are and how talented you are.

Watch the world cup and you’ll see that the best players in the world make mistakes every game!

You have to have the mindset ahead of time that if you make a mistake, its okay and you will get better from it.

So go out and play unafraid- I promise you will play much better and have more fun than if you were to play it safe.

Remember that just like anything else, in order to get better… you must practice.

When you work on these every day, you will be amazed at the difference it makes in your confidence, on and off the field!
